All games are 2 x 25 min. on a water-based astroturf pitch and will be played according to the rules of the IHF. In addition, 3 points will be awarded for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. In case of a points tie, the decision criteria in descending order of importance are: match result between tied teams, maximum number of female players on the pitch during this game, overall goal difference, total goals scored and age of the “most experienced” player in the team.

All teams are to provide one umpire for the game immediately following their own game. Umpires will be provided by the organisers for the first games on each day.

Food and drinks can be bought at the appropriately-named “El Bully” clubhouse adjoining the pitch. Changing rooms and showers are also available on location.

On Friday night there’ll be time to hit the Casco Viejo (San Sebastian’s historic town centre) and sample the great selection of “pintxos” on offer in the local bars. Saturday is dinner night at the La Perla restaurant.

Please pay 160€/team as your share in the cost of organising the tournament into bank account number: ES33 3035-0127-06-1271015900 (BIC: CLPEES2M) payable to Ignacio Sainz. The dinner will cost 40€/person, all inclusive. This will be collected from the team captains on the first day of the festival.

The festival organisation and the sports venue have each contracted the legally required third-party accident-insurance cover. This does not however cover personal injuries occurring on the pitch or mishaps during your travel or stay. It is therefore recommended that each participant contract the travel insurance that he/she deems appropriate. The Basque health service is free for EU citizens who carry a valid E111 or equivalent (European health service membership card) which can be obtained from your own nation health service before travelling.

To help us help you, please let us know:

1) When you arrive, when you will leave and from which airport.

2) Where you have booked your overnight stay.

3) How many players you have got, and how many additional members in your party who will attend the Saturday dinner (indicate any special dietary requirements).

4) Whether you have a goal keeper (protective kit can be borrowed).

Do not forget to bring a beach towel, swimwear, sunglasses and cream; we might be lucky with the weather.

Some additional travel information:

If you fly to Bilbao, there are direct shuttle buses to and from Bilbao airport to San Sebastian every hour. There is only one direct daily bus to and from Biarritz airport, so a car rental or a pre-arranged pick-up service may be better. Consult bus timetables on www.pesa.net.

The pitch is in the Bera Bera district of San Sebastian (Paseo de las Aves) and is conveniently served by several city bus routes (www.dbus.es). If arriving by car, get off the Irun-Bilbao motorway (A8) at the exit “Ondarreta”.
